  According to the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy, to become a pharmacy tech, all you have to do is hold a job in a pharmacy and register with the State Board. So there are no training requirements however if you have some training, that may put you ahead of the rest of the applicants. Do you know if your job market is saturated with pharm techs right now? Do you see a lot of pharm tech job openings in your area? If you do, then you can assume that there aren't a lot of pharm techs that have experience who are looking for jobs. If the job postings say that experience is required and you have none, what I would do is get some formalized training and sell that as experience to your employer when you interview. That is the only way I have found to overcome the experience requirement. Good luck!
