Yes, Registered nursing is one of the few recession proof jobs in the world. As to your income? It entirely depends on where you live. Obviously the hospitals in big cities would pay better then a hospital in little town usa.

you will definitely find a job! the one thing that doesn't change, no matter what the economic situation, is illness. if anything as the economy gets worse people tend to get sick more often. the pay will depend on which agency you choose to work for.
