  • Answer:

CNA is a lot more versatile than EKG. You can work in long term care, hospitals or home health. You can also be trained to be a medication technician once you gain experience as a CNA. You'll also have a far easier time getting a job. All of this will give you medical experience and help you decide if the health career is right for you. Plus it is highly flexible so you can attend school and work part-time. As a fair warning, however, it is hard work. It's grunt work like doing laundry, changing depends and feeling residents in some cases. However, if you get into assisted living/group homes that is where they have medication technicians pass meds and learn basic medical equipment like nebulizers. Hospital CNA's will often learn higher skills on the job as well. You will learn what to look for in changes of health or behavior, how to deal with difficult patients, how to prioritize your time, how to work in a team environment and how to handle the most depressing side of illness (death). All of these skills will aid you in being a physician assistant. Best of luck to you.

Well.... to be honest neither has a great deal to do with practicing medicine. EKG techs just go around hospitals taking ekg readings, which is mindless work. CNA's have way more responsibility but still in the end are not really practicing medicine. CNA's however have a lot more hands on patient contact, so that would be the way to go. There is a good site on http://www.cnatrainingcertificationclasses.com/ that might help you decide if being a CNA is right for you. My opinion would be CNA over the EKG tech, I might recommend becoming an EMT over both of those though.

ummmmm a CNA or EKG tech isn't really going to count for much because they aren't college prep. You should go into nursing or some other occupation that requires a college degree because a PA sure will require A LOT of college classes

S.S.

Go to cna school and work on a hospital unit. You will be able to see medical care. Ekg people don't do many medical functions
