It sounds like your issue is more a financial one. First off, when you say "upgrading" your title every two years, you need to realize that it's 2 years of FULL TIME education. People generally don't get an LPN to later get an RN. They just get the RN if they want to be a nurse. Getting an RN doesn't require a bachelor's, but since you want to become an NP eventually than it would. There are many more programs out there that make it easier to get your RN while being a student part time. This also holds true for becoming a Nurse Practitioner. So if it's a matter of supporting yourself while in school then definitely go the nursing route because PA programs require full time dedication and you can't work while in school.
