What do an RN and a Physical Therapist do?

Who makes more money? A RN or a physical therapist?

  • So who makes more??

  • Answer:

According to the bureau of labor and statistics, the median salary for PTs is about $10,000 more than an RN. However, both have similar earning potentials depending on setting and management experience, especially when you consider NP or DNPs which requires a masters or doctorate degree. Type of setting and shift also matters. An RN working night shift in an ICU is going to make a heck of a lot more than a nurse working days in a doctor's office. In all, PT is a rather young profession with most people out there having less than 15 years experience, so it's hard to compare these two professions where experience matters.

it depends on what degree the RN has. it's more with a bachelors or masters degree in nursing.

Usually a registered nurse will make more than a physiotherapist, as they have more diagnostic training then that of a physiotherapist. They are able to do a lot more duties than a physiotherapist as well. It depends on whether you would want to help with the rehabiliation of the patient, or whether you would want to concentrate on more patient care when they are in the hospital setting.

RN's. they always get paid time and a half because of the nature of their hours they work and they always get extra pay off their based pay and they are always in demand to work more hours. thus, they get paid more for being wanted more
