How do I get certified as a Medical Assistant?

Is it possible to get certified as medical assistant or RN on your own?

  • I mean, do all the studying yourself then take the exam or whatever is required to be licensed or certified?

  • Answer:

You could prolly do the studying alone, I'm sure there must be some kind of take home course. I'm sure you'd have to show up and take the test in person though

Well if you have worked/work as a medical assistant NHA has a program that you can study from home. It requires you to have worked in the field for 2 years. At the end of studying from home and taking a at location exam you become a CMA-C. http://nha2000.com/cert_info.htm

No, you can do all the bookwork from an online course, but you will still have to do clinicals (where you go and actually do the work with someone watching over you).

Most likely not. To be certified in anything you need to graduate from a registered program recognized by the county/state you reside in.

Of course, you can study lots of books and nursing guides yourself but who will teach you the most important factor and subject of Medical assisstant or RN that is, PRACTICALS? Unless you get attached to a hospital or nursing home in order to be practical, you are not likely to get job anywhere also.
