HOW MUCH DO RN NURSES MAKE A YEAR?

Can I make 80K my first year out of nursing school- RN Associate ?

  • I'm in Florida and just enrolled to start an RN Associate degree in the summer. I am wondering if I will make 80,000 my first year out of Nursing school ?

  • Answer:

No, not even close. Most RN's will be making about $25.00 per hour starting and then their raises go up from there.

Not even a bio-molecular/chemical engineer with a masters degree can make that their first year out. Well, ok, maybe they could..... /

No you will not. MUCH closer to $50k, however with 10 years in the field and overtime, $80k is VERY possible

No, about 50K -60K with some overtime is more likely. That is still high pay considering the average American makes about $30K a year and all you have is a 2yr degree.....so....still $50K aint too shabby

If you wanted to make 80k plus your first year why are you going into nursing? The nursing market is flooded and it will be hard to attain a position because of competition for jobs. Why not look into Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, or Physician Assistant. These jobs are at the Master's degree level but you will be making the kind of money you want.
