What are some options in the healthcare field (besides nurse) that pays well?

Pharmacy technicians make quite a bit of money. Or as they mentioned earlier a x-ray tech. Try looking in to medical transcriptionist, a lot of the companies that offer the job let you work from home.

I am in the medical field and have been for over 20 years. No matter how bad the economy has gotten over the years, I seem to always be able to find a job. The medical field is one of the few that hasn't taken a complete dive, like so many other businesses. If you have a BA in Psychology, you should be able to find something decent. I would try looking for something that will be able to train on the job. If you were to want to do something like X-ray tech, ultrasound tech etc... those would require further training. I would just put applications in for whatever you can find. If there isn't much, then put your resume in with Human Resorces in various Hospitals, and or medical offices. You never know, there will be someone out there who will probably give you a shot with the degree you already have. Good Luck!

A BA in psych can get you a job as a psychologist, social worker, counselor, school counselor, college psych prof, therapist... You would have get your RN or LPN to be a nurse. Other careers in "healthcare" are caregiver, homemaker, LNA, LPN, RN, EMT-B, EMT-I, paramedic, LMNA, MA...

a social worker, if you go back to school for respiratory therapy..
