Do you enjoy being a nurse??

Is it wrong to be a Nurse if I really don't enjoy caring for people?

  • Answer:

Nursing is really hard especially if you are just doing it for the money. You clean up poop, vomit, pee almost everyday and yes you have nursing assistants to help you but there is usually only one of them for 15 patients. In addition to that you will deal with very sick people who need you for everything such as eating, turning in bed, walking, using the bathroom, showering etc. So if you don't like caring for people do not be a nurse because you will regret it and hate it. Like the other people have said there are so many other jobs that pay just as much or even better. Good luck!

Most people don't like their jobs. However, if I was going to the hospital I would want my nurse to care about my well being. It's not a profession you should "do for the money", in my opinion. Do everyone a favor and find another career path.

There are many jobs which pay good money. You must be somewhat compassionate to do this job and be able to be around some gore, although Nurses aides deal with a lot more gore these days, than Nurses do(Nurses do a lot of paper work). But they do things like inserting Caths and IVs and such,so they do some work around gore. There are jobs which are more Technical which require more interaction with machines than people(Xray techs) which pay well. But even there you must have some compassion,so you will not hurt anyone while taking an xray. I am a Nurses aide and I have been around all medical staff.

No, it wouldn't be wrong, but it would be improper.

look at dr cox or celso in scrubs... don't think they particularly enjoy their job, but they are great at their job :)

If you excel at taking care of people & think it's good money then go for it. It's not exactly wrong. just do whatever you need to do. NURSES/DOCTORS please answer mine: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgswswmfJOBiEk0cYTQJd9jsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110718132939AAW6DJp
