Don't go to ITT tech. They do not fall under the same standards as a regular college or university does. They are a for profit college - meaning that don't care who you are as long as your willing to pay them. Find out what their exact accreditation is.. find out what nursing exam you take for your licensee. You need to be Sure they are accredited through your respective state (usually they are not) and you need to make sure they provide you with the NCLEX (nursing licensee examination) test and that it's included with tuition (which I doubt it is considering they are a for profit 'college') I am a CNA and in nursing school right now and I would not risk your career going to one of those for profit schools. Nursing has a strict guideline from the state they local colleges and universities must follow - ITT can make of their own 'guidelines' because they are not accepted through the state. Don't fall for the scam because you will have a lot of trouble finding a job. Nursing school is very competitive and it's even more competitive to get a job out of nursing school. You wont get hired anyone decent with one of those 'diploma's' Most colleges will not accept transfer credits from ITT - my college doesn't they don't even recognize it as a degree.

Please *avoid* those private overly priced For-profit schools such as ITT tech, kaplan, argosy, keiser, university of phoenix, capella, everest, devry, ashworth, colorado tech, sanford brown, ashford, penn foster, walden, strayer, pima medical, brown mackie, westwood and others. Their course credits usually do NOT transfer to other schools, even if the for-profit school is regionally accredited as opposed to only nationally accredited. This consumer site has a lot of negative posts by former students of those for-profit schools (including ITT tech), and please heed the students' warnings: http://www.complaintsboard.com and can search. Please instead consider the more affordable (and usually more reputable) community college or state/public university (or even the county vo-tech school for a trade) as long as the program is accredited within the industry. (In the case of nursing, the program should at least be accredited by the State board of nursing.)

Your job availability often relies on the contacts that your instructor has with your clinical facilities. If your instructor likes you, you most likely will be the one given the clinical rotations where they are actually looking to train and hire somebody. If your instructor does not think you are the most ethical, most likely to stick with and give her a good reputation for placing her name on you as a recommendation then you will not get a job from your clinical rotations. It is true that the credits will not transfer from technical schools to colleges and Universities, if you are obtaining your Associates Degree at ITT Tech. I do think that there are RN to BSN online bridge schools that will let you obtain your BSN, Masters degrees with that degree from ITT Tech. It is much more expensive to go to a private Tech School than a State College. However , I think it would be less rigorous and a sure thing to gain entry to the school and pass going this route. State Colleges are extremely competitive, have so many pre-requisite courses, and such harsh grading policies, that it stops most people from getting into the programs and fails a lot of them out of the programs. If you can afford the tuition of the ITT Tech Degree, personally, I would do it. But check to make sure your State Nursing Board has that school as accredited to allow you to sit for your state NCLEX exam before agreeing to go to that school.
