prn positions always get paid more. They usually work in hard to fill positions, have extended commutes to work, might work at one facility one day and another the next. A prn PT will make even more than a prn PTA. Remember that prn work isn't always guaranteed either, sometimes they also have to fend for their own benefits as. well. Believe me, stay on the DPT track. Your potential for career advancement is greater. Very few PTAs earn more than $50,000 a year. P.S... the salary listed on that website for prn PTAs is WAY over inflated...I can guarantee you this is an error. I know what we pay for our prn PTA and it's no where near $100K

I do not believe the information you looked at is correct. PT's make more than an assistant regardless if the PTA's works PRN or not.

PRN means you are called only as needed so you dont get the hours or beneifits as a full time employee so they get more per hour.
