    If I was able to do life over again I would become an electrician's apprentice and then an electrician. A good maintenance electrician can make $75,000 per year, but the hours are bad. The country is about to have a drastic shortage of electricians.

Yeah an apprenticeship is the key I think. Something no one has mentioned are horticulture and farming. but I think maybe you have to work your way up. I taught this kid after school and his parents were horticulturalists and nicely well off, always going to Club Med etc...But yeah you might need to go to technical school as part of your apprenticeship.

I heard plumber, electrician, and pharmacy technician are some really well paying jobs. Even these jobs require at a minimum a technical school, or 2 year degree. The electrician that installed my kitchen fluorescent light had a bachelor's degree.
