  • Answer:

as long as the RN program is accredited, then you can go for it. otherwise, it's all a waste. check to see if the school is accredited first before deciding.

If the program is accredited, who cares? Schools that offer RN programs are closely monitored if they want their students to be able to sit for NCLEX. Take what you can get. Good luck

My niece just did her RN at a private college. What I think you mean by trade school. She had been on a waiting list for 3 years. If anything, I think employers were more impressed by her school. It was very thorough. More so than the state school my sister in law attended for her RN. P.S. Tuition was 30k AFTER financial aid.

I would recommed a community college because of the price. I went to a trade school to obtain my LVN it was very expensive and RN is even worse. But to answer your question NO as long as you get your nursing liscense employers could not care less how or where you obtained it! All they want is a nurse. Job demand for nurses is great and probably always will be. I am currently finishing up my pre reqs and I plan to try and get into the RN bridge program at my local community college. Good Luck! BTW I am guessing these other people answering have no clue what they are talking about! lol When it comes to nursing a trade school offers the same courses/cirriculum and clinicals any other schools offer! In my hometown the NCLEX pass rate is actually higher from students at the "trade/vocational" school I graduated from then the local community colleges. And they are definately not easy. It is fast paced.

Don't take the easy way out, If its worth it to you to do it, do it right

If you can earn a 2 year RN Degree and it is offered at a trade school then it is no different.

go to a national guard office or something and ask about a 68WM6 it's an army nursing program, it gives some nursing certification, but not RN, something else i don't remember. however, i think it'd probably take a total of 10 months because there are other medical school you go to first. but if the waiting lists are long, you can get paid for that entire time, and still be learning, and the guard will pay off any student loans, as well as pay for the rest of your schooling. and since you're in school you'd be non-deployable.

it's definitely hard to get into RN programs right now. you could try and look for community colleges that offer an ASN where you could become an RN. then you could work and get your BSN later on. or, you can try to go for LVN first, and then work your way up again or, you could go to private schools that offer a BSN, and shell out more money. not sure where you're at, but if you're in california, i know that CCSF offers ASN (to be an RN). SFSU is almost impossible to get into for a BSN if you don't have the best grades AND additional "optional" requirements. But, there are programs at SJSU and CSUEB. Private schools offering BSN include: university of san francisco and samuel merritt university. Other schools (for LVN) include: everest college, merritt college, chabot college, etc.

Look at your states' website / job board to see if they have any training or schools available and placement assistance; part of the Presidents plan includes funding for the health care field

not 2 B fooled

I really think a trade school is NOT viewed as favorably as a college. Hang in there.
