  • Answer:

it's a hard battle cuz i went through it! first go to the search engine and search for colleges near you that have nursing degrees. begin by doing your general education courses that have the prereqs for nursing. MAKE SURE YOU GET AWESOME GRADES! Then apply to any of the nursing colleges, but beware that there's a huge waiting list cuz everyone nowwants to become an RN! Trust me, begin by doing your general courses first. OR you can go to EMT school first and then see if you like the medical field. EMT=emergency medical technician. it's great. go there first and then do your general education courses after you get your EMT certificate. Good luck.

You will have to start in a community college, it would be the best. Do all your pre-requi. and then try getting in the nursing program, it's kind of hard to get in, most colleges have a waiting list, but it's worth it. If you go full time, it could probably take you 4 yrs to finish.

Try going to a school like Everest College, Get your Ma degree and get your foot in the door of medicine then follow along the course to become a RN. Also get a babysitter and get your self a job, Your Kids will REMEMBER about what a hard struggle mom had trying to raise us and working and going to school. It will make them think when they are older, man I better grad. high school, and then go to college, instead of having kids at 15 years old or even younger. Also structure your every day life into routine, the kids will follow. You will then have enough time for school and work. The school will help you get gov. grants and you can qualify for all kids of free money and scholarships. They can also defer payment till after you graduate. You have no reason not to go to school. Some schools offer babysitting on campus. They also have like career services offices to help you get that job you need. Sometimes it can be in a medical office just answering phones, it at least gives you experience working in a doctors office. Once you enroll at school you will find the hope and confidence that you want and need from others to complete this journey. I hope this can help you. This advice was once given to me. It put me on the road to success, I am also a 4.0 GPA Student, that never finished High School.

(Sorry this is so long....but I was going to school for this too...) Going to school to be a nurse now is harder than it ever has been. I recently took a college class called "Anatomy and Physiology"... It was very hard and I failed out of it. I am normally carry a 3.7 grade point avg in all my other college classes. The biology and chemistry parts of studying to be a nurse are the hardest things and they are some of the first things you have to take at college.... If I could do it over again I would take a few basic - easy - chemistry classes.....because there is so much chemistry in the human body that you have to learn - it is really mind boggling. And I didn't have chemistry in high school so it was really really hard.... You have to be smart and dedicated and a good reader... Colleges are businesses and they will tell you all day long that you can take these classes and get this degree just so they can have you spend money at their college. But the some of the courses are designed to be so hard that most students fail them and have to retake them... thus the school generates more income.... All I'm saying is... when it comes to taking the Physiology and Chemistry aspects of your course work... take the pre-requisites even if they are not required.... They will save you time and money in the long run if you have that knowledge. College is easy to get into, so don't be intimidated by that.... Most schools will do what ever they can to help you enroll so they can get your tuition money....

You do need to start with wrok. Community colleges usually having nursing programs, such as Ivy Tech. You can get your associates, then get a job at a hospital while working on your B.A., or just go straight for the B.A. After you have the B.A., though, you should start working in a hospital, doctor's office, etc. Most places (especially hospitals) will help pay for your education along with giving you a job.

First, you should call the local hospitals and see if any of them have a nursing program. If so, many require prerequisite classes and credits. Calling the local hospital Nursing School or community college first to see if they have RN programs and what their requirements are is probably your best first step.

First you have to go to a community college and get enroled in the LPN or some colleges will allow you to enter into the RN program without LPN, but either way you have to take the NXCLEX test and you can get the study guide at your local library, I suggest you get it, you will need it.

Your local community college should have an RN/pre-med course of study, with both online & campus classes. Make an appointment to meet with an advisor. Fill out your FAFSA student aid application - as a young mom, you have loads of opportunity for financial aid, and nursing is a great career choice. I have 3 friends who are currently studying to be RN's Check out all the free resources for students online - start with http://www.collegeboard.com/student/plan/ Good luck & Happy New Year!

u should get a job first to pay for it and to live and take care of ur kids!!!!!!!!

Check the phonebook or internet for vocational schools in your area, and don't forget to ask about Financial Aid. Some community colleges have lvn / nursing programs, you could start there, usually more cheaper!
