  for the computer field there are generally a couple majors you can pursue. 1) computer engineer - probably the hardest of the computer majors since it requires high level of math and it takes time to get a CE degree. 2) comp science - usually known to be really dry with a lot of programming 3) Management info sys or computer info system - This major is generally under the business program and focuses less on programming and more on networking, security and database. Which one you want to do depends on what you want to be after you graduate. Computer engineers and computer science majors generally get the really high paying programming jobs while MIS/CIS majors can range from anything from network admins, to ERP people, IT guys, etc. For now i think you should decide which path you like first, you really wont be able to take many of the programming and database classes til your declared in your major and into your sophmore and junior years. If your going for MIS/CIS i recommend a visual basics course which is probably the only one you can take at a community anyways. If not you can take a computer science course if your going that route. Or start taking calculus if your going for engineer.
