Is a computer science degree really that useless?

Hey, I know this question is 6 months old, but DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE "FRIENDS" OF YOURS. A biochemistry degree is ten times more useless than anything out there. Computer Scientists are almost guaranted a job out of college. I studied hard for my degree in biochemistry and all I could get was a pathetic laboratory technician job that pays just above minimum wage. The worst part is I cannot do anything else because the classes and labs I took doesn't teach you any relevant skills. I know a guy from university who was a complete slacker and did Computer Science. He was a C-D student and literally had hundreds of job offers immediately after graduation, whereas I took nearly 6 months to find my crappy job and I make 1/16 less than him and I was a much harder worker than he was. All those "friends" of yours that are laughing will all end up with crappy lab tech jobs and you'll be making the big bucks (average salary of a computer scientist is 65K). Just do what you love man.
