Is a computer career a good start?

Is it possible to start a career in computer programming without a bachelor's degree?

  • I would like to either do C++ or Java programming as a career

  • Answer:

You might be able to do this with a 2 yr degree - associates. But if you don't have one of these, your chances are very slim. Employers are much more likely to give interviews to candidates with degrees, as opposed to those which have none. With so many people looking for computer jobs, those without degrees, are likely to not even be considered.

Yes. However, with the way that personnel agencies work, I'd advice against it unless you have the experience to backup your application. In other words, get a decent degree first.
