Is it possible to have a good career in networking and as a programmer/developer?

    Have to agree with Richard. In reality you you may have to sacrifice one. How ever have the both set of skill make you an invaluable asset to either career choice. For instance not many, if any network admin jobs ask for programming skill, but the most effective network or system admin do vb or power shell scripting. And on many programming jobs require to have MCSE or CCNA but understand the networking and active directory when programming for a company makes you a very powerful programmer that can leverage the network capabilities and integrate active directory into your applications.
