  • Answer:

Mr Hande is always right. As I am a mechanical engineer with shop-floor experience, I can say that the growth path of a production engineer is a bit slow but steady. Design is a rather specialized field. You cannot expect much growth One day you may start a design facility or a school. Regards, S.Suresh. Trichy

Well, since u r a mech. engg, u can do designing and be in production also. in that case, u will be exposed in ur career very well and get a very gud experience

Why not do both? First, Design engineer for a year or two, then Production engineer for another year or two. That way, you have actual hands-on experience, where you can get a better paying job because you can do both.
