What do I say when I make a follow up call after submitting a job application?

Just tell them you're name, and that you turned in an application about 1 week ago (or whatever) and you wanted to check the status of it. Just say you are interested in the position and were very curious about what was going on. Don't worry about saying the wrong thing. If it's you're first job then they realize you're young. You'll learn, just be natural and be yourself. Good luck
