What are Qualifications for a video game testing career?

Any legitimate video game company will insist that a job applicant be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma. I have worked as a game tester and I can tell you that they are looking for individuals that have a combination of good writing skills, excellent attention to detail and a passion for the video game industry in general. It also helps if you have any sort of developed computer skill such as programming, web design, hardware etc. although this is not a neccessity. It should also be mentioned that video game testing is not a slacker job. You must be dependable and creative. I mention creative because you must be able to find new ways to find bugs in the game even after playing it for 2 months. With all that being said, video game testing is a great way to get into the video game industry and into game design. you don't need qualifications for it just experience and money. They will make u put in a deposit.

You'll need a Degree in Computer software development as the testers are actually the people who design and develop them too
