  • I never seem to have any luck applying for jobs online - I always receive e-mails of rejected applications. I don't get it, I have over 3 years customer service experience, and ...show more

One tip I can give regarding applying for a job, and has worked for me, if the potential employer is local to you why not print out the application form, fill it in, and then personally hand it in, along with other things you need. This shows you care about the job, and willing to get out and hand in your application in person. Hope this helps, good luck.

try to do a bit of research on the companies that you are applying to, and input something about the company in your covering letter, about what you like about them, and how you could better help them achieve what they want, it may take a little longer to apply to each job, but it will be worth it in the end. hope this helps :)

If you are able to reply to those prospective employers that have rejected you, simply write a replying email to every one of them (including the ones that have rejected you in the past if applicable) and say "Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for the opportunity regarding this position, i shall apply my skills and experience to the position available in your rival company (insert company name here)" Keep it short, sweet and always polite. At the end of the day, even if it does not always make sense with some of the positions you have applied for, you are keeping that thought in the employers mind, that thought will circle around their head for the next few days. Now this may entice those employers who previously rejected your application to get into contact with you and present you with an opportunity in the form of an interview. They have already rejected you, moved on and forgotten - so what have you got to lose?
