What exactly do computer engineers do and how much money do they make?

Do plumbers make more money or computer engineers?

    You bet they do! It actually depends on the country they would work in, though. For example, I live in Canada and plumbers do make a killing. There are, of course, some computer engineers that make more money then regular plumbers because of working at prestigious companies, but in general, plumbers are richer. Something you need to keep in mind is that you can't find the answer to this question by going through the "statistical data" the government publishes since no country wants to admit that, but it's so true that on the average, plumbers are richer than computer engineers, at least, to the best of my knowledge, in Canada. If you can get a job as a plumber with certain cities you can earn over $100k a year and most likely with better benefits. But if you like working in a nice clean office with pay that isn't that far behind and pay that isn't far behind then be a computer engineer.

It depends on location and whether that plumber has his own business. I know a couple of plumbers that own their own companies that make between $200,000 to $300,000 a year gross. I also know some software engineers that make $250,000/yr.
