Medical Transcriptionists have been replaced by dictators and software. The need for transcriptionists aren't there anymore as computers and technology replace the need for actual people.

10 years isn't that long ago. We're just talking about 1999. It's not like we didn't have mobile phones and computers then and all worked down a mine or something! lol. One answerer saying that all shoes were made by hand in 1999. I don't think so!!! We had factories, we weren't in the middle ages! The main technology change is the speed of internet. We had it in 1999 but mainly it was dial up connection which was slow. When we wanted to share a music file, we had to pay the phone bill for it and wait for about an hour per track. Now we can buy tracks from Itunes and have an entire album in 4 minutes. This means we don't buy as much physical music. This means that shops that sell CDs would be suffering. Woolworths partly closed down because their music supplier was in trouble. So Music shop workers. People who fix and clean public phone boxes because everyone has a mobile phone now and only a few did 10 years ago. TV repair people because TV's and DVD's and most Chinese made technology is so cheap we just buy a new one when it's broken.
