What is a good font for a resume?

What's a good resume font?

  • Answer:

The best to use is Times New Roman. Using anything else is usually seen as unprofessional. You are applying for a job, not entering a design competition!

Recently went to a class at unemployment center. For resumes, they recommended 32 pound texture paper and Arial 10-12 point font.

I use Garamond. Just remember that aside from the font, it's the content in your resume that counts plus the correct grammar and the organized layout of information in your resume. Good luck!

times new roman is very traditional (and perhaps a little common). I like arial as it doesn't have the "san" serif curls on the f's etc and looks more contemporry but I think as long as you choose a legible font in a well laid out format, then you have a wide range of options - eg verdana, trebuchet etc

I like Comic Sans, but it might be to casual for some jobs.
