How can I get an overseas job as a civil engineer?

In hawaii, where can I work as a civil engineer with 3 years of experience? What job title could I get?

  • Obviously I'm not a civil engineer but I really need to know.

  • Answer:

The employment picture in Hawaii is not good. You will find it difficult to get a job with the qualifications you have - not that they are bad, but people with those jobs hardly ever move away ( there's no where to move), so vacancies are few & far between. Further, the salaries in HI are lower than in big cities of the Mainland. Together with high cost of living - an apartment rents for $2,000 - you would be hard pressed to enjoy life, fantastic scenery and beaches notwithstanding. I would suggest you look for work in places where there is more development - like on the East Coast. With your higher salary and more disposable income, you can always go to Hawaii for vacation each year.
