What do they mean when they say it is a set up job?

Ok--waiting a for a background check on one job--but just set up an interview for another job--what do I say?

  If they hired another person instead of you, they wouldn't care much about you. Therefore don't care too much about them. I went to a better job when I was young and could only give 2 days notice at my old job. My father-in-law said "how much notice would you get if they fired you" so I didn't feel too bad after that. I retired from the good job 8 years ago at the age of 52. You have to do what's best for you as they will do what's best for them.
