    You will entry level. Typically, you need experience at the next lower grade level or an education equivalent. But that is really only effective up to GS-5 or GS-7. For a GS-5, as a replacement for experience, you need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study. For some GS-5 jobs and particularly GS-7 jobs, you will need at least a Master's degree and some experience.
