    CAPers do not HATE the Sea Cadets any more than the navy hates the coast guard. It is called a rivalry. You ask if you should do both. I would say go ahead, know this. There are only so many weekends in a month. There will be conflicts. Also, neither the CAPers nor the Sea Cadets will understood why you what to be involved with the other. Here is my question to you, have you looked at the opportunities that CAP offers ? You did not say if you planning to enlist of if you where going to do ROTC. If enlisting, once you get Mitchell award. you enter Boot Camp as an E-2. That does not sound like a big deal, except you will be making more pay and will be eligible for promotion before anyone else that enters with you. If you are going ROTC and receive you Earhart, you have credit for the first year of ROTC. This means if you are applying for a scholarship, they will know that you can do the coursework, You already have... I have not even mentioned IACE, COS, PJOC, Hawk Mt, or a thousand other thing available to you, if you are motivated and willing to put in the effort. I was a seacadet and boy did I love it but there is nothing to make fun of in terms of military relation seacadets are much more closely related to the military than cap. Seacadets is funded by the dod under the navy. Cap is a youth voilunteer program. You should join sea cadets but remember you'll sart out as a recruit and basically be an e-1 till you pass an actually pretty rough for kids bootcamp
