My friend would like to start a non-profit organization?

He can visit http://www.nonprofit.org and get some ideas and instructions on how to get started. He should know that there are many different licenses that he will need to do this and some are rather expensive. When I started a nonprofit, I had no idea that you could be assigned so many different numbers and licenses! He should be prepared to invest a good bit in getting this started as you can't solicit money until you are licensed legally. However, once he is done I am sure that he will find that it is well worth the investment. If he isn't financially able to put up the needed investment himself to get started, maybe he could find a financial partner that would be willing to front the funds to get started.
