    Yes. Me. I started a nonprofit with no money. How did I do it? I got out and started talking with people and making requests. People donated money, services and items. the nonprofit Federal application (Form 1023) fee was $750 and I raised it within a week in non-tax-deductible gifts that ranged from $2 and the largest was $100. Most gave $20. People gave me all kinds of fundraising ideas but they either cost money to start or were more complicated than just asking. That was fine for raising $750. But if you need thousands of dollars, you'll need to do more than just ask.

Good Luck. I have been working on a non profit program for three months, with no money. I am looking for someone who will work as a co director of my organization. My plan consists of 300 pages from start to finish. The idea that I am going for is to create two paid positions in the corporation--one for me and one for the financer. To make a non profit organization, it is helpful to solicit help from professional organizations such as charity net, but this will cost around $1,000 when all is said and done. Pitch your message to local churches and in places where the need would be the greatest (such as PTA meetings). You might be surprised at the responses that you get. Non profit organizations can be great. Funding is another issue. Good luck.
