What do you submit to a company as a writing sample as part of your application?

    I use things like newsletter articles, brochures, web pages, and fundraising appeal letters as writing samples. If you do not have items that have been published or distributed, take a look at things you've written for class assignments and see if any of it would be appropriate. Hope this helps. Good luck!

If you were asked to do this during the interview, the easiest thing to do is ask. You could submit an essay or something from school, cover letter as was mentioned, just make sure it is done properly and don't plagerize.

I was asked to do this in a form of a cover letter, so they could see my business writing skills. So, I basically just did a cover letter stating the position, the company and why I wanted to work for them, etc.
