How did you become a firefighter?

    Hi A good way to start is just go to google and type in "how to become a firefighter" and then the name of your city. It will give you name of fire academies and some general information and probably some phone numbers for you to call. You could also go into a fire hall near you and just tell them you are interested; they'll tell you how to start.

There aren't many different ways. If you're looking for a full-time department, you have to do the same as everyone and go through the application process & testing. If it's for a volunteer department, the rules vary quite a bit. I started at 18 with a volunteer department and got hired with a full-time one several years later.
