You might want to call the HR department of your local FBI field office. Pick the field office in the nearest large city, since they will probably have their own HR person. Alternately, you could try the HR department at FBI headquarters in DC and explain to them that you need this for a report. By the way, the first poster, Mike, is right in that the actual salary varies by where they work, since some places like Washington DC add cost of living bonus onto the salary since it's so expensive to live there.

It varies greatly by where they live. But they start around $75k/year You can see salary tables at www.opm.gov for different parts of the country... they usually start as a GS-11 Supervisors can be GS-15's... And they usually get 25% overtime (AUO) automatically.

$45,000-50,000. you would think it would be more but you only need 3 years of law enforcement experience to become an fbi agent. but that is just an educated guess, im not in the fbi.

Here is a website for general info on careers -- US occupational outlook handbook: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'law enforcement officer', 'police officer' or 'FBI agent'. Good luck!
