  • Answer:

i dont think so...but u do need internships or apprenticeships with fashion houses. after designing for some seasons/years, you will move up. if you are really good, you will move extremely fast. people go to fashion school to gain knowledge, experience, and connections. Before you decided to become this, do you know how hard it is to succeed and how much work it takes to get up there. And when you are up there, you will be scrutinize and there will be nasty comments. I think it is a good goal but you should ask yourself if you truly want to be in fashion and if you really love it.

It probably doesn't hurt to have a degree, but the work experience that will be required for a job like that will take the most effort. You can't go from creative directing at a cheese company To creative directing at Chanel. It's the related experience you need and that's a tight rope to walk right now in this day and age. And my guess is by the time you get to that point of experience to get a job like that, you'll realize There are other venues for your experience you'll enjoy much much more then fashion.
