  Sales require people skills as a person in sales go out there to get business with direct client interaction. For example, a real estate broker who goes out to find a client to represent to look for tenants for their building. They then broker a deal when they find a client looking for space. Marketing is more about generating business without the direct interaction. They create brochures, ads, commercials, marketing campaigns, write content on the website, etc. Marketing also supports sales with these materials.
