  The first couple of years you will primarily study basic classes. You should start on your major beginning in the junior or third year of study. Marketing people tend to be outgoing and personable. Type A personalities come to mind. Most are driven to be successful. It is more than math although there is quite a bit of math involved is some of the classes. Calculus, statistics, finance and accounting are some of the math related classes you will take. Marketing is much more broad based. It involves critical thinking. All you need to bring is a desire to be successful.
