Good summer jobs for teens?

I recommend becoming a lifeguard. The position comes with a lot of responsibility, which employers/colleges love to see. You must have certifications, which shows your ability to learn and demonstrate skills. Plus, when you're working as a guard (at a larger pool) you must work with others showing cooperation and teamwork skills. Lifeguarding is also a lot of fun. You meet a lot of people, make connections, learn valuable (life-saving!) skills, learn and gain experience in leadership and teamwork, and get an awesome tan while doing it. Once you're a guard you can also work your way up to swim instructor/swim coach/etc. No matter, guarding always looks impressive on a summer resume. Note: If you're looking for money, you'll want to guard at a beach (which requires a different cert) or a country club (where you often work alone). I suggest working at public pool or private club, its even if the money isn't necessarily as good--you get to meet more people and its simply more fun.
