Do retail stores hire inexperienced 17 year olds as sales associates?

Yes they do - You need to make a resume. List your "jobs", like baby sitting, etc. List your academic accomplishments (if any). List organizations you belong to (girl scouts, boy scouts, etc.) List community service or Volunteer work done - ever been to "work camp", organized a relay for life team, etc. The things you list should demonstrate your can handle responsibility, are trust worthy, hard working, a community asset, etc.

Some jobs will require you to have experience while others might not look at it as much. Just apply to all the places that appeal to you and keep trying. You can always earn some extra cash from home using your computer in your free time also if youd like. I made some extra money just by taking a few surveys. Although it may seem like a scam, this is actually for real. I like to think realistically, so you may not make millions by doing this, but you definately earn for the amount of work you put in. And, you can put anywhere from just a few minutes a day to 40 hours a week into it. Did I mention there is no startup costs??
