Why does my eye lid keep twitching?

It's probably stress. While I was in the process of separating with my husband, my left eye twitched for months. I know how very annoying it is!

My eye does that. Its due to a nerve in the eye, parts of your body just twitch sometimes and it feels as if your heart is in many places. Its just blood flow. I found if i get a good night sleep, it doesnt occur :)

This happened to my friend last year and it was because of lack of sleep. unless you are positive you are getting enough sleep, this is probably the case. if it isn't...i have no clue. lol. just try to get more sleep and stay well rested. dont stress too much.

Its harmless,just close your eyes for a few minutes and then wash your face.

It is stress. That happens to me, my mother, and a co-worker. It's a very common reaction. If you can resolve whatever is stressing you out, it will probably go away. It's a simple anxiety reaction.

Mine does that too, nothing to be worried about, and its not as noticeable to others as you think, it will go away with time and may come back in the future.

a combination of stress and lack of sleep

I've heard its from a lack of sleep, or stress.. But mine twitches every time I sneeze.

It happens when you are tired or stressed. It happens to me all the time when tired and the key is NOT to start getting irritated by it, because then you get worked up and it twitches more often. It should probably stop soon. Try going to bed!
