How to be highly effective with cold calling and inside sales?

How to improve sales? i tried cold calling but it always got bad and nasty reply.?

    I've found the most important part of sales is staying with it. If you get 10 nos, get some coffee, then make a few more calls. Be friendly, genuine and reliable. The guy above me just gave you a sales pitch. Don't listen to him. Here are some good tips though. Hope it helps. Tip # 1: Relax. Your emotional state, believe it or not carries through your voice. Tip #2: Try to talk to the potential customer like he is a friend, not a potential customer. Tip #3: Plan on what you are going to say before each phone call as well as what response you will have to their questions and objections. Tip #4: Try not to sound like a telemarketer. Don't say cheesy lines like how are you? And other things that may make you sound like an infomercial. I can't stress this enough, talk to them like a real person. It makes all the difference. Tip #5: Practice voice inflections, so you stress words that mean something like "discount" or "guarantee" Tip #6: Ask lots of questions. People love talking about themselves, and it will get them to open up and make them thing of you more like a "real person" opposed to a "sales person" Tip #7: Develop urgency to buy, because once they have time to think about it, or talk it over with whoever, it lessens their buying chance. Tip #8: This is the most important. Have confidence. Because if you don't believe in your self the potential customer won't believe in you either. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I've read over the four responses you have received so far. I agree that the first guy is giving you his sales speech ... disregard what he is saying. You have to overcome the word "NO". Understand that they are not saying NO directly to you but to the product. Treat it like water running off a ducks back ... you will 10 people say NO before you hear 1 person say YES. As the others have said ... it's just a numbers game. Have confidence in yourself and know what you are talking about. One thing that has helped me a lot is to break out the telephone directory and call all of the places I planned on "cold calling" that day. I would ask for the Sales Managers name or whomever I needed to see. If I was lucky I would have a "very short" chat with him/her and tell them that I would be stopping by to drop off some literature today or tomorrow. I would repeat my name at the end of the conversation so it was the last thing they remembered me saying. When I got there I would quickly present the literature and make a little small talk. Then leave. I would always follow up with a return visit after 2 or 3 days to see what questions they had and show them how my product could help them conduct business. I believe in doing a telephone call to the business before visiting them. Again, this worked for me ... you might have to develop another sales style of cold calling. Main thing is to keep trying and it will always come to a positive end. Good luck! Doesnt hurt to ask for leads when you make a sale either.

All three of the answers are very good and you should use what works for you. My advice is to understand they don't want to talk to you. It realy is a numbers game to find the one person you can help. Don't take it serious, believe in yourself and your product, know what your talking about, tell the truth and have fun.
