Hey I did door to door sales for 2 and a half years. I was making great money selling Fios on 100% commission. I sold at least 2 customers every day and as many as 9 in a day. Most of commissions were between $40 to $100 a sale. It is a tough job with long hours. You have to canvas a neighborhood over and over again to try and talk to the DM. Also a lot of people are at work till 6 and its illegal to knock after 8pm. As far as having this on your resume it looks awesome. I have moved onto B2B sales and I have no college degree. I got hired with the company Im at now only because my success as a door to door rep. I had a few job offers to look over. I cant stress to you enough how frustrating and hard it can be. But you just gotta keep your eye on the prize and keep going. Set a goal for the day and dont stop until you get it. One last thing some of the bigger cable companies like cox and comcast will hire you directly with a salary and lower commissions. The contractors are the ones that pay you 100% commission and are usually MLM. Just sell the product and dont drink the Kool-aid. You dont want to own a company that 5 other companies are getting paid on your sales

If you get pay by commission, I would introduce you a better job with pay by commission and no need to go door by door sale, and you can earn up 2,000 per month! Are you interested? And cable sale is not a so good sale!!

This would be a 100% commission job and you pay all your expenses. If you don't sell anything, you don't earn anything. Can you afford that? What you also have to consider is that selling cable TV door to door is not like in the 1970's when everyone was excited to get signed up in a neighborhood. Most people are furious with the crummy service and outrageous rates. Dish and Direct are the hot tickets now and not cable TV. I think I would pass on this opportunity if I were you.

I know someone who had this job with a major cable company. He ended up quitting because though he and the others were hard workers, they were constantly being threatened with being fired because they didn't make enough sales that day. The problem was, a lot of people were already using their services or simply couldn't afford to upgrade. He ended up quitting because he couldn't take the stress of being threatened with losing his job every day. I think that is why there is such high turnover in those jobs, too.

That pay is accurate. If you want to stick in sales, I wouldn't want it on my resume though. I have no clue as to what kind of benefits they'd provide. As far as freedom, I think you hit the nail head on. I'm sure they all have home offices and are out and around during the day in their territory.
