The only thing I can add is to have a product that you believe in. For example; ever see a great movie? Did you tell you friends to go see that movie? Same thing. Find a product or opportunity that means something to you personally.

The printing industry provides some excellent sales training that is transferrable and desirable for many sales careers. Community-based car rental firms often provide a good way to get started.

In my area most of the B to B outside sales jobs require a degree or 4-5 years experience. The ones that don't have low pay, poor benefits and are hard to sell products and services. Why not do some kind of commission based retail sales just to get the experience? Then, you can move up. I started at a furniture store. It paid well...was structured for each person to make about 35K, but everyone in the top half made more. Top salesperson made over 100K and I made about 45 my first year and knew nothing about furniture or sales at all when I started.

Everyone here has very good examples. You may want to try working in the logistics field as a broker. Good pay---but it can be stressful. New car sales is also good experience---but it too isn't for everyone. Good luck!
