There are plenty of work at home jobs that don't require start up money or signing up for any programs. Those types of jobs are called telecommute jobs. Millions of people work permanently from their homes for Fortune 500 corporations in positions such as customer service, project management, marketing, program management, sales support and IT. How do you get one of those jobs? Like everyone else, you apply for a job with the corporation. Most of the time the job description will cite location as "negotiable" or telecommute.

These types of jobs definitely exist. I've been working from home for almost two years now, first for a software company in customer service and now as a Content Manager for FlexJobs.com. But you're also right that there are tons of scams in this job area, so you have to be careful in your job search. Here are some tips for searching for this type of work. - Be careful of the keywords you use to search. "Work from home" is a phrase associated with lots of scams and pyramid schemes. Instead, try more safe words like "remote work," "telework," and "telecommuting." - Some of the categories you might consider, depending on your interests and experience, include data entry, customer service, administrative, call centers, writing and editing, education, nonprofits, and sales - Be aware of the warning signs of scam jobs: Jobs are almost certainly a scam if they promise easy money for easy work, if they require you to "invest" or pay a fee to get the job, if they use all capitalized letters or lots of !!! and $$$ punctuation. Common work-from-home scams include repackaging products, survey taking, stuffing envelopes, and building crafts. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Also, to find job listings, I would definitely recommend FlexJobs.com (and not just because I work there :). FlexJobs lists only legitimate, pre-screened telecommuting and flexible job opportunities. All of the jobs listed at FlexJobs are for legitimate and reputable companies and we weed out scams so that your job search is easier and more successful. I hope you'll check us out, and best of luck in your job search!

First you need to educate yourself on all that's available that you would be interested in doing. There are more ways to earn online than there stars in the sky. Well, maybe not that many but it can be over whelming. I started by signing up for all the newsletters, mini-courses and such that I could find. You will filter throught them till you find the ones that appeal to you. Once you find something you are interested in, you have to make a decision that will call you to action. If you can't do this, and you only wish and talk about wanting, then you will never have what you want.

Do NOT pay for a list of jobs or pay to get a job. There are a few of the legitimate companies that, after you have qualified for the job, ask you to pay for a background check if you will be handling sensitive information like credit cards. It's usually $20-$30 and from legitimate companies is a legit fee to pay. Other than that, there is no reason or need to pay anything if you just want a job. Some of the call center jobs, you are an independent contractor (IC) and some you are an employee.

If you really want to work from home, why not start your own home based business?? There are lot's of different types of home based business's that you can start from your home. I know a lot of people who are doing this.,... They're different then just ordinary jobs. YOU own this. This is YOURS. So the amount of income you make, would be up to what YOU do.

Yeah, there are actually a ton of legitimate work from home opportunities. If you have any skills: writing, graphic design, programming, etc. check out one of the freelancing sites like elance, odesk, or fiverr. The real money is in internet marketing, but that's a lot of work.
