What type of PART-TIME job is perfect for a college student?

Bria, If I had to go back to being a college student, I know what I would do....start my own temp labor service. I am in business...I own two business...and we are in constant need of temporary people. I sometimes use a temp service, but the quality of people I get from those is really bad. I have used college students whenever I could get them and much prefer that, but have always had a very hard time finding them. You would be surprised how many businesses could use help answering phones, filing, some computer data entry, etc. on an occaisonal basis and don't want to hire someone permanently. Oh well, just an idea....

Have you been to your college's employment office. The ideal jobs are ones on campus! Many offices need workers during the week and the benefits are fantastic. By benefits I mean you end up learning all the ends/and outs of the university and the jobs are usually not horribly stressful. I worked in the college library in college and it was wonderful because I knew that place backwards and forwards and made several great contacts with professors. The employment office also has job listings for employers looking for people who are intelligent and need only part time work. I use a local college's employment service to staff my church's nursery!

working on college is good. I worked as a computer lab assistant. There was down time to do research for homework and gas money was reasonable b/c i stayed at one place and commute home.

try a work-study programs is ur college or universty offers them if not try something like hospital or some that fits ur interests

try to get an on-campus job at an office. best if it's in the department where you are a student. working on campus is best. they don't stay open until all hours and they mostly think it's important for you to do well in school and you are already there anyway.

There are lots of part time jobs for a college student. Does you college have a job referal department, I would start there, and see what is available, also ask other students, word of mouth helps a lot, you can also look for a part time job with an agency and do companion care (helping older adults). How about working in a College library? ~:)~

retail. department store. work one of the two weekend days and a few night shifts during the week. you'll get right about those hours. plus, it's easier to get commission during those hours instead of the weekday mornings and afternoons when nobody is shopping.
