The holidays are coming up and New York I've heard is a great place to be during the holidays. What are some fun and must do things when there? What places must I visit to say that I have experienced New York?

Answer:
I've decided to combine a couple of different responses I've done so to provide the best suggestions for your question! Take a look and be sure to ask questions if you have any! + People watching through various neighborhoods with warm or hot beverages is a simple and enjoyable trip. + Check out Central Park: If there is snow on the ground, enjoy the view or bring a ball to throw around in the snow. Other great places to visit in the park include Wollman Rink or Strawberry Fields. + Sightseeing: Of course there are plenty of wonderful places to pay a visit to throughout the city during this stay. They include, but are not limited to: - The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center (check out the ice skating rink too) - A Broadway play (at least one) - Times Square - Radio City Music Hall: The Rockettes will be performing until December 30th - Grand Central Station: While a simple walk-through might be enough to immerse yourself in the deep history of the station, you can also opt to visit the Transit Museum Store at Grand Central. While it is a little bit hard to find. During the holidays they have model trains set up and plenty of nifty gifts to remind you of your visit. - Harlem: With notable streets, sites and venues, youâd be remiss to not visit! From the Apollo Theater to the Audubon Ballroom, Sylviaâs, to the Schomburg, Harlem is a wonderfully dynamic neighborhood with a great history. While youâre in Harlem, trek over to Columbia University and take a walk through the campus. - The Empire State Building - Wall Street - Chelsea Market: âThe weather outside is frightfulâ, but the lovely Chelsea Market isn't! Come along and explore an exciting market-place without having to brave the elements this December. - The Highline: A wonderful above ground linear park that was built along the remains of the West Side Line rail tracks. It currently runs about 20 city blocks between the famous neighborhoods of the Meatpacking District and Chelsea. While it may be more crowded during the warm, summer months, there is no denying the beauty of the park. - The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island: Look into booking your space sooner than later as these trips do book up quickly! - Dyker Heights, Brooklyn: Every year thousands of people venture out to Dyker Heights to bask in the Christmas Spirit of the town. Annually, the community has a competition of sorts for the biggest, best and brightest Christmas decorations. While there are plenty of visitors that take the Christmas Pilgrimage to Dyker Heights, it is the perfect blend of New York City flair and a suburban feeling reminiscent of home for many of us. Try to walk the Brooklyn Bridge during your trip too! The view is breathtaking and can only be more beautiful with all of the seasonal lighting! - 5th Avenue: One word: Shopping. - Holiday Markets: There are a couple of wonderful annual holiday season markets in Manhattan this time of year. My favorite is the Union Square Holiday Market. The Square is transformed into a little village of shops with interesting and friendly people selling a rich variety of treats and gifts. Columbus Circle is home to another holiday market and both would be well worth a visit! Try to catch Union Square Holiday Market and/or the Columbus Circle Holiday Market before they close up for the year on Christmas Eve. + Restaurant Row: Do some research for something particular or just wander through Restaurant Row during your stay. Located in the Hellâs Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan (quite fittingly), it sits right next to the Theater District where you can catch the aforementioned Broadway shows. + Sports Venues: If you or anyone in your party is a sports fan, every weekend in December this season you can head to New Jersey to see a Giants or Jets game at Metlife Stadium. Or, alternatively, you might be interested in visiting Madison Square Garden or the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn for a Knicks or Nets game! Both arenas hold plenty of concerts or other attractions when they aren't hosting sports events. + Explore: New York City has so many incredible things to offer, you owe it to yourself during this trip to explore. Visit some museums (MOMA, The Met, and the Museum of Natural History are some of my favorites), take a subway and get off at a random stop or just explore the best way you know how. There is no right or wrong way to do it. Just stay warm!
