Why do I often have blue feet?

Why do my hands and feet keep going dark blue?

  • for about the last 4 months when I am cold or have been leaning on my arms my hads and feet go a very deep blue/purple. Is it worth mentioning it to my doctor?

Sounds like Raynaud's Syndrome (sp?). It's a circulation problem that can be either minor or major. I have it, myself. When either my fingers or toes get to feeling cold, they first turn a very waxy white color... no blood color at all... then, when I try to warm them, they get large splotches of dark blue, with some of the white... my mom, a nurse, has said that the symptoms are often referred to as having red, white, and blue hands and feet. I am in my forties, and have had this problem only in recent years. When it is on my hands, my hands look very bruised, like I've been slapping a brick wall. i don't know if you are a male or female but if...... male then it may be acrosynosis, no big deal but get an appointment female then it may be reynauds disease, definately get appointment
