After you get stitches removed can you go to a water park?

yes you should be fine to be able to go in the water however it would be helpful to wear a band aide on your chin and also they sell water proof band aides now so those would be your best bet.. mention it to the doc when you go to have the stitches out too Im sure they will say its okay! have fun!

Four days is not appropriate time for a wound to heal, it is usually seven or more. If you go to the waterpark, you risk your wound reopening and most importantly you will get it infected. A wound that reopens CAN'T be sutured back and you have to let it heal by granulation ( easily a month or so) and if it gets infected, it takes even longer. Don't risk it, I have cut a many legs because fun is more important than health.

After you get the stitches removed, I don't see why you can't get the area wet. Gotta get back on the horse sometime. But I WOULD recommend that you avoid a recurrence of whatever it was that you had to get stitches for, at least for a little while.

i got stitches on my thumb and i too went to the great wolf lodge. when i found out about the water park i asked my doctor if i could go in the water. she said first run it under water and if it feels sore, put 3 bandades on it. and if it doesnt hurt, just go in the water. so depending on how many stitches you got, you either go in or not. i hope i heled but i probs didn't!!!! lolz

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you're supposed to go in water like that. The stitches still need time to heal I think. I don't know though, that's just what I've heard and seen.

You can go, ask the doc to be sure. Why only four days? Have they been in longer and you only have 4 days left? Once stitches come out you should be able to do anything you like.

Usually once the sutures are out it's ok to get them wet, but a water park is alot more exposure than a shower. Ask the doctor when they are taken out and see what they say.
