OK, you can get the medicated sunburn stuff like Goldbond. However, lotion is your best bet because it sooths and heels. First check the ingredients for anything you may be allergic to. I am allergic to panthenol, which is in lotions, shampoos, body washes, perfumes, etc., and I have to check every time for it to make sure. Otherwise, my skin gets red and swollen and it breaks out in hives. Anyways, when you find a lotion that doesn't have anything you are allergic to in it, use it. It may itch or burn when you put it on, but after a few seconds it will feel cool and soothing. Your sunburn should go away quickly and if you're lucky it will turn into a tan!(: I hope I helped!

Aloe vera gel be careful to pat it on since the burned skin is delicate.

It means the burn is healing. Try not to scratch it. You can use one of those shower puffs to gently brush (NOT rub) away the peeling skin...but I mean gently!! Use lotion to soothe the itching. In many cases, a hydrocortisone cream will help a lot. Keep your skin moist. The peeling will stop as the burn heals. For pain, I recommend Water Gel. You can find it in the first aid section in any drug store...great stuff! I got sunburned a few weeks ago and my burn is still healing, although I'm not peeling anymore. I'm just itchy and it's really hard not to scratch myself to death. EMT

Aloe Vera. If the pain is bad, you can use one with lidocaine in it. You can also just buy a bottle of aloe gel with no anesthetics. I've always used blue aloe with the lidocaine and I haven't had any problems. If you're allergic to anesthetics in the -caine family, avoid the ones with lidocaine. Bottom line is: Aloe Vera is the best.

cotton swab with baby oil... it gets rid of the dry skin and it doesn't cause irritation or redness.

The best way to heal a sunburn is to take frequent long, cold showers. The water helps hydrate the skin. You can also use moisturizers with aloe vera in them, but try not to use the ones made specifically for sunburns, because if they have benzocaine in them, or some other anesthetic, they will definitely irritate the skin. you can put some hydrocortisone cream on the skin if it's itchy, but any intense moisturizer should fix the dry/uncomfortable feelings. Moisturize constantly, whenever you feel dry. The more you put on, the better it will feel!. keep moisturizing until the peeling is finished.
