Lower back left LEG pain?

I have severe pain in my lower back ,down the side of my left leg all the way to my foot ,?

  • i also have a crushing pain in my foot and sometimes tingling ,is it a siatic nerve

  • Answer:

It sounds to me like you have injured your sciatic nerve. Contrary to what many of the hacks will tell you on this site, there is NOTHING that can be done for a sciatic nerve injury. (I would be nervous taking medical advice from people who don't even know how to spell the body part they are giving you advice about.) But it only lasts about four days. If it lasts longer than that it was NOT your sciatic nerve. I have injured mine three different times in my life and I felt a deep, DEEP pain, deep in the muscle tissue from the middle of by left buttock down to my feet. Even if I switched position in my car adjusting my seat belt it would send a stabbing pain down my leg. Each day it got a little bit better until after four days I was back to normal. Pain pills (Motrin, Tylenol et.al.)may give some temporary relief but sadly time simply needs to heal this sort of injury. DO NOT go to a chiropractor. The only thing that will happen after visiting a chiropractor is that you will lose weight (your wallet will weigh less.) Hang in there and stay away from climbing stairs, (they were the worst.) When climbing stairs I looked like Frankenstein.

You are suffering from sciatica. Part of your sciatic nerve is pinched and causing the problems. There could be many different reasons. I'd suggest going to a neurologist.

I think that it could be a pinched nerve as-well or a disk in your back could have slipped out of place and the nerves and muscle around it is now swollen. and this could take a few weeks to get better and the doctor and give you an anti inflammatory and pain meds.

It sounds like a herniated disc. Go to a DOCTOR NOW!!!!! I was in a car accident and lost 5 discs . I kmow of the the pain in which you speak of.

See a doctor of osteopathic medicine, look for a D.O. after their name. It's a nerve problem, maybe in the lumbar spine, maybe referred from the SI joint.

You need to visit a neurologist. My mother in law had the same problem and let it go too long. She now lives with a medicated iv pack in her back. She lost nerves on her side permanetly. I wouldnt let it go too long.

Yes it is ur Cyatic nerve..you should get that checkd out ...if not treated..it can be very painful and you will have problems all ur life

Don't worry-it is more than likely nothing serious but you should see you doctor. You have probably got sciatic nerve compression due to lower back disease. If nothing else your doctor can refer you to a physiotherapist to help strengthen the back and reduce inflammation
